Dr. Josephine Ebomoyi (nee Orobor), President

  Josephine received a Ph.D. in Biological Science (Microbiology) Education from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, USA, M.S. in Public Health (Parasitology) from Tulane University, New Orleans, and B.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University).

  She is an adjunct Professor at St. Xavier University, Chicago, and works at the Microbiology/Molecular epidemiology lab at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago.

   Josephine recently completed my Post doc with Center for learning and teaching in the West, which is a five-university consortium.

  A Clinical microbiologist certified by American Society of Clinical Pathologists, she has mentored Upward bound college age students, introducing them to basic Microbiology concepts and applications, linking science research projects to the students’ everyday lives.

  Josephine is a member of American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and belongs to both Microbiology Education and Clinical Microbiology divisions of the society.

  She co-founded Legacy International Inc., a magazine that promotes educational, scientific and cultural awareness and served as deputy president and editor between 1992 and 1996.

  Josephine is married to Professor William Ebomoyi and they are blessed with two daughters, two sons, two grandchildren and a son in-law.

 

 

Desiree Tisdol (nee Mary Ogboro), Vice President

  Desiree graduated with the St. Maria Goretti class of 1977.

  She received a B.A. degree in History from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University).

  She is a certified professional coder and is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders.

  Desiree is currently employed as a Consultant with Coast to Coast Inc. and serves as President of Euphoria Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization for the special needs population.

  She is a member of the Good News Courier with special interest for the underserved population.

  Desiree is also a voracious devotional writer with inspirations from everyday natural occurrences.

  She is blessed with three wonderful children.

 

Cordelia Osidele (Nee Esangbedo), Assistant Secretary

  Cordelia graduated with the St. Maria Goretti Class of 1984.

  She graduated from The College of Pharmacy, University of Benin in 1990.

  Currently, she is a Clinical Pharmacist with CVS Caremark Pharmacy, San Antonio, Texas.

  She is a Certified Immunizer and holds a Certificate in Diabetes Disease State Management.

  Cordelia is married to Dr. Olufemi Osidele and they are blessed with two sons, Tobi and Deji.

 

 

Dr. Emmanuella Akande (Nee Cocodia), Assistant Secretary

  Dr. Akande graduated from St Maria Goretti in 1985.

  She graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos with a Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery in 1992.

  She has been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists since the year 2000 and is a well-published and respected specialist in her field. She practices as an NHS (UK National Health Service) consultant in Forensic Learning Difficulties.

  Dr. Akande also practices as a medico legal expert and consults within the independent health service in the UK.

  She is the founder and Chair of Everyone Counts International, a UK based Charity that aims to raise awareness and improve civic responsibilities in Nigerian children and communities. She continues to build on the vision for this organization and has been successful in completing needs assessment surveys for some communities and is working with a team to fund the organization’s projects.

 

 

Bose Oviasu (nee Ogbeifun), Financial Secretary

  Bose graduated with the Maria Goretti class of 1982. 

  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Edo State University, Ekpoma in 1992, and a Master of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Detroit Mercy, Michigan, USA, in 2003.

  Bose is the President/CEO of Trustcare Group Homes Inc., and the President of Anointed Care Services LLC, both in Michigan.

  She is a member of the Board of Trustees of Faith Redemption Center Church.

  She is blessed with a family of three boys, Samuel, Christopher and Emmanuel.

 

 

Dr. Francisca Oboh-Ikuenobe, Treasurer

  Franca graduated with the St. Maria Goretti class of 1978.

  She received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Geology from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Cambridge in England, where she was a Commonwealth Scholar. 

  She has been a faculty member at Missouri University of Science and Technology (formerly University of Missouri-Rolla) since 1991 and is currently Professor and Head of the Geology and Geophysics program.

  Franca is active in several professional associations, is a member of the Optimist Club of Rolla, and an advocate for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis.

  She is a fellow of the Geological Society of America, President of the AASP – The Palynological Society in 2011-2012, and a Fulbright Roster Scholar 2010-2015.

  She is the recipient of several awards and honors, including faculty excellence awards and Woman of the Year Award at Missouri S&T.

  She is married and has two sons and a daughter.

 

 

Lillian Asoera, Public Relations Officer

  Final graduation from St. Maria Goretti in1982.

  B.A Goshen College 1986.

  M.A A.M.B.S 1990.

  M.A Counseling Psychology 1997.

  Marriage Family and Child Counselor.

  Currently works in the Health and Human Services department, County of San Diego in California.

  Married with one son.

  Still a practicing Catholic.
